This report has been constructed from Newsknife in-depth site profiles of several MyFox news sites as at July 2007.
It is based on Newsknife's monitoring of appearances by MyFox News at Google News.

It shows the powerful information Newsknife profiles provide to help you identify your site's strengths at Google News
and improve on your weaknesses.

first subpage of Google News, for the 12 months overall and for the latest month. The top positions
on the first subpage are key opportunities for a news site to improve its listings.

During May we found one appearance of MyFox Colorado on the home page of Google News, as the seventh ranked source for the particular news item. We also found MyFox Colorado in ranked positions 27-30 on the first sub-page of listings for stories at Google News.

"% of all sites" indicates how visible you are at Google News.

Within the last quarter MyFox Colorado has slipped down in the % of its Google News appearances found by Newsknife on the all-important Google News home page and first sub-page of listings. This could indicate that Google News may not find MyFox Colorado reporting of news events as appealing as it once did.

On the other hand, in the last quarter MyFox Colorado's share of the listings that Newsknife found at Google News was up. This indicates that people are more likely to see MyFox Colorado because it appears at Google News more often.

For example, here are the 40 appearances Newsknife found for MyFox Colorado.com during May 2007.
These included one appearance on the home page of Google News at 7.28 pm Wednesday May 9
(New York Time), as the 7th ranked listing for their second Top Story. This is a very good listing for delivering traffic to MyFox Colorado.

You can't see the headline wording for this particular listing as Google News only shows the headlines of the
first two listings on the home page. However, the clickable URL below is the actual page URL that Google listed.

At many news sites you can click through to the original item to try to discover what made it rank so well or so badly at Google News.
This is only possible if each page has an unique URL, which is retained permanently and can be revisited at a later date.
It appears that this is not the case at MyFox Colorado.com.
