Newsknife rates news sites on relevance (how),
based on our analysis of the main Google
News site.
This rating is a subset of our standard monthly rating "Home
page sources, year-to-date", which is ranked according to appearances
we found on the Google News home page. (See our current
standard ratings.)
The only difference is that we have removed sites that were not
U.S. newspaper sites.
Below are our top 12 U.S. newspaper web sites. We ranked New York
Times 3rd on the list of all news sites (after ABC News and
Reuters), with 675
appearances found on the home page of Google News for 2006 year-to-date.
For 2004 we ranked it 2nd, for 2005 4th.
