Newsknife rates news sites on relevance (how),
based on our analysis of Google
News.
President Bush's second term is off to a busy start with plenty
of headlines during February; particularly for his travels through
Europe.
Newsknife has followed his activities and ranked the news sites
that covered them. If you're interested in George Bush keep an eye
on these sites.
Our ranked list of 59 news sites was produced by Newsknife from
3045 individual site listings for 15 major news articles related
to George Bush, at the main Google
News site during February. (You can see the articles we
monitored further down this page)
The sites were listed on the Google News home page as sources.
Reuters is our No. 1 ranked site. The top 12 of the 59 sites are
listed below.
Google News usually lists seven news sites per major news item
on their home page, all "sorted by relevance". We award
each site points per appearance on a sliding scale from first to
seventh position, and we total the points to get the ranking positions.
You can see how many times we found our first three sites on the
Google News home page in positions 1-7. For instance, we found Reuters
listed five times as the most relevant site for a news story on
George Bush, once as the second ranked site, three times as fourth
ranked and once as seventh source.
