Newsknife rates news sites on relevance (how),
based on our analysis of the main US-oriented Google
News site.

The following are from our sample of 284,459 listings by 7076 sites
for 2510 news items during 2009.

Fox News' coverage of the President she stirred up a hornet's nest.
Newsknife decided to look at this year's Fox News headlines at
Google News to see if they support her view.
We've noted 37 "President Obama" news items at Google
News this year where Fox News was amongst the sites listed on Google
News' home page. For
16 of these items Fox News was the top listed source.
There are two implications:
Firstly, you can look at the Fox News headlines we found (and click
through to some of the stories). Are they as a whole more "anti"
than those from other news sites?
Secondly, you can reflect on the fact that for 16 of the 37 stories,
Google News choose Fox News as the most relevant source, (which
tends to suggest Google thought that Fox News did a particularly
good piece of reporting).

Google News usually lists seven news sites per major news item
on their home page and thirty on each sub-page, all "sorted
by relevance". We award each site points per appearance on
a sliding scale (with occasional tweaking) to get the ranked positions.
The second column is the number of appearances we recorded as the
first source for a news item. The full lists of 51 and 122 sites
